Rat Breeds and Colors
When you see the term Fancy rat that just means they are a pet rat. I will always be adding to this page as I learn of new breeds and colors.
I cannot name them all so I will name the most common.
If you want to show your rat look over the regulations at: http://www.miceandrats.com/standrat.htm
Rex Rats
A rex rat's main difference is that their hair is curly. The density of the curl can range from barely noticable to tightly curled. When the rats are born they have a lush beatiful coat. Once they start to grow into their adult coat they loose the lushness and the fur turns into more of a wave than a curl. Sometimes, however, the rats become patchy for a while.

Dumbo Rats
Dumbo rats are not dumb, but are named so because of Dumbo the movie. Dumbo had big ears. Dumbo rat's ears are not folded which give the ears the appearance of being bigger. Whats different about dumbo rats are that their ears are more on the side of their head than the average rat.
